A proposed multi-billion pound tunnel running under the Thames between Essex and Kent has been given the backing of Essex County Council, claiming it will create around 5,000 jobs.Under the proposed plans the new tunnel would run from Tilbury to Gravesend with a new road running from the end of the M2 and joining the M25 between junctions 29 and 30.The scheme has already been labelled the preferred Thames crossing option of Highways England, and would be the first new crossing of the Thames east...
