A DEDICATED railway worker at Ingatestone station was applauded by more than 50 of his regular customers after buying a one-way ticket to retirement.Alan Dowdall, 61, of Cheviot Drive, Chelmsford, has spoken to thousands of commuters and helped them with their journeys and queries during almost 15 years at the station.The supervisor, who was crowned Greater Anglia's most helpful worker in April, had such an effect on the commuters that they many gathered to bid him farewell on Sunday.Together,...
