Hundreds of tonnes of bailed straw destroyed in Chelmsford barn

Firefighters have tackled a fire in a barn containing hundreds of tonnes of bailed straw.About ten per cent of the straw in the barn measuring 50 metres by 10 metres in Cooksmill Green, Chelmsford was ablaze when fire crews were called shortly before 10pm on Saturday.Crews used hose reel jets to control and contain the fire while farming equipment was used to remove straw not involved in the fire to prevent fire spread.The fire had been extinguished by 3am, however crews remained on site...
